Project description The RTC wishes to award a contract to obtain the services of a general contractor for work at its Centre Lebourgneuf located at 720, rue des Rocailles in Quebec City. The work involves demolishing an old gatehouse and building three (3) outdoor battery rooms. Demolition of the bungalow involves removing the median, a small bungalow building, lampposts and outdoor shelving. Construction of the halls includes site excavation, foundations, gutters, a service trench between the existing building and the three (3) halls, piping for fire protection and electrical service, connection to the existing building's fire alarm system, and installation of shelving inside the buildings. The rooms are designed to be filled with water in the event of a battery fire. The various components are designed accordingly. The work will be carried out in two (2) phases separated by a winter break: fall 2024 for a major portion of the work, and spring 2025 for finishing work in preparation for project closure, also in spring 2025. The coordination of the work must allow buses to pass through at all times. A team of architectural and engineering professionals is also assisting the RTC with the project.
