Supply all labour, equipment and materials to perform City Project CP000765, new screen installation at the Lemieux Island Water Purification Plant. A. This section outlines in general the work to be done under the Contract. It is intended to provide a general understanding of the scope of work. For full details, refer to the Contract Drawings and Specifications. B. The contract documents indicate the extent of the work. However, it is the Contractor's responsibility to examine on site during the time of tendering the proposed work to develop a full appreciation of the complexity and scope of the work. C. Complete demolition and upgrades to the Lemieux Island Water Purification Plant (WPP), located at 1 Onigam Street, as shown on the Contract Drawings and specified herein. Supervise, organize, coordinate, and direct construction operations of sub-trades and suppliers. It is required that a competent supervisor will be on-site at all times to monitor construction activities. D. Supply, install, and put into continuous successful operation all equipment and appurtenances. Include start-up, testing, commissioning, and training, and operating assistance to Owner as described herein. E. In addition to constructing the works shown on the Drawings, design, construct, and maintain, unless otherwise specified or shown on the Contract drawings, temporary works and facilities required for the construction of the works, including maintaining the Water Purification Plant (WPP) as habitable and operational during the construction period. Remove temporary works and facilities when construction is completed. Design of temporary works to be stamped by P.Eng. registered in the province of Ontario as applicable. Temporary works and facilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1. All security fencing. 2. Sheeting and shoring systems for excavations. 3. Temporary modifications to the site to allow access to all work areas 4. Formwork for concrete. 5. Falsework and bracing for formwork or for other parts of the works while under construction. 6. Bracing and shoring for partially completed masonry, steelwork, precast concrete, or other assembly Erosion control measures 7. 8. Temporary barriers and enclosures. 9. Any temporary piping. 10. Any temporary HVAC equipment to maintain habitable temperatures within the station (20-25 degrees C). 11. Snow removal, and the application of salt and/or sand to maintain constant safe site access for all stakeholders. The contractor is responsible for snow removal and salt and/or sand application in their staging areas. The proposed site laydown/staging area will be determined at the pre-construction meeting. 12. Managing traffic diversion, detour, temporary vehicular access and parking development, maintenance, and restoration.
