Demolition, site work and addition to a water / sewer project in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project includes the following Work: Construction of improvements to the Aberdeen Water Reclamation Facility that generally includes: whole building demolition and selective demolition, earthwork, site utilities; cast-in-place concrete footings, slabs, and walls; building construction of pre-cast concrete panels and pre-cast hollow core; building construction of masonry block and brick, influent screw pumps, influent screening, screenings washing, vortex grit removal, grit pumps, grit classifiers, screenings and grit conveyors, high speed turbo blowers, fine bubble disc diffusers, final clarifier mechanism, RAS pumps, WAS pumps, scum pump, UV disinfection, chemical feed tanks and equipment, building mechanical HVAC and plumbing; electrical systems including standby generator, MCCs, VFDs, switchgear, conduit, wire, etc.; instrumentation and control hardware, conduit and wire for SCADA system. The Bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be required to fur-nish a construction per-form-ance bond and a construction payment bond to the Owner in the amount of one hundred per-cent (100%) of the contract award for each bond, in con-form-ance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The construction per-form-ance bond and construction payment bond shall remain in full force until the completion of the Con-tract as specified in the General Conditions. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid security. Bid security will take the form of a bid bond in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bidders maximum Bid price or a cashier's or certified check made payable to Owner in an amount of five percent (5%) of the Bidder's maximum Bid price. The Bid security will be re-tained by the Owner if the suc-cess-ful bidder refuses or fails to enter into an Agreement within fifteen (15) days after Notice of Award or fails at time of execut-ing the con-tract to furnish a construction performance bond and construction payment bond guaranteeing the faithful per-form-ance of the work. The City of Aberdeen reserves the right to reject any or all bids. BABA is not a requirement of this project. However, this project includes ARPA funding which has an American made preference requirement. The contractor awarded the contract for this project will be required to communicate to the materials suppliers that preference is to be given to American made materials that are competitively priced and meeting the requirements of the specifications. They need to keep proof of that communication in their files. American Iron and Steel as well as other requirements of SRF funded projects remain in effect. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with Article 8 of the Instructions to Bidders. Performance and payment bonds shall be furnished in accordance with Article 19 of the Instructions to Bidders. A pre-bid conference will be conducted at the Aberdeen City Hall at 1:00 pm local time on September 26, 2024.
