Corridor wide improvements include ADA compliant curb ramps and pushbuttons, countdown pedestrian signal heads, high visibility crosswalk, intersection lighting, upgrade sidewalks where needed, optimize traffic signal timing and offsets, and installing of tide controls at the L Street and K Street outfalls and closing the curb along the Marina Driveway to existing bulkhead. Isolated safety improvements include: Restripe Rt 35 NB to single lane between Marietta Rd and Belmar Ave/16th St, reconfigure NB approach of Rt 35, reduce curb radius, and modify traffic signal at intersection of Rt 35 and CR18 (Belmar Ave). Construct median island along Rt 35 NB approach to Pine Tree Way and install rectangular rapid flashing beacon on Rt 35 NB approach at intersection of Rt 35 and Pine Tree Way. Install new Traffic Signals at Rt 35 and L Street, and Rt 35 and Rt 71 (H Street) and realign Rt 35 NB to eliminate angle point on H Street, along with clearing vegetation within the median to improve stopping sight distance. Construct curb extension along Rt 35 and 11th Avenue, removal of existing sidewalk in the median, realign the SB left turn slot and install pedestrian crossing sign. At the Rt 35 and 10th Avenue intersection, realign NB curbline, reduce curb radius, and relocate Rt 35 NB right signal head.
