The City of Dallas operates an Outdoor Warning System that serves most of the incorporated parts of the city. The system consists of 178 sirens located throughout the city. With the sound radius overlapping and with a continual changing commercial and residential footprint, it is imperative that the City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management (hereafter known as OEM) knows where the gaps are within the system to be able to make strategic plans and prioritize future installation of new sirens into the system. To this end, OEM needs a comprehensive sound propagation study on the existing system to determine and prioritize future siren installs.
