Renovation of an educational facility in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

As indicated on the project drawings, remove existing EPDM membrane, remove existing insulation, mechanically attach new insulation into metal/concrete deck, adhere new coverboard and install new adhered Fleecebacked KEE membrane. Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which Owner will sustain by failure, neglect or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the work in unqualified compliance with Contract Documents or furnish the required 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bond within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award. The Iowa Board of Regents seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. This project has a participation goal for certified Targeted Small Businesses. The participation goal of 10% is specified in the Special Conditions. The Iowa Board of Regents reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and to accept that bid which is deemed in the best interest of the Owner. A. The Contract Documents are intended to identify one complete project. The divisions and sections of the specifications, identifications of any drawing or naming of any subcontractor is not intended to delineate work perf ormed by any specific trade. The CONSTRUCTOR shall be responsible for assignment of w ork. The work is further defined as: Removal of existing EPDM membrane, remove existing insulation, mechanically attach new insulation, adhere new coverboard and install new fully adhered Fleecebacked KEE membrane roof assembly. Install specified safety items. B. Contract Type: stipulated sum C. Ryan Palmer, Senior Field Representative Tremco Inc. 507-402.6783 rpalmer@tremcoinc.com MATERIALS FURNISHED BY THE OWNER OR OTHERS If the Work includes installation of materials or equipment furnished by the OWNER or Others, it shall be the responsibility of the CONSTRUCTOR to examine the items so provided and thereupon handle, store and install the items, unless otherwise provided in the Contract Documents, with such skill and care as to provide a satisfactory and proper installation. Loss or damage due to acts or omissions of the CONSTRUCTOR shall be the responsibility of the CONSTRUCTOR and shall be deducted by the OWNER from any payments due or to become due the CONSTRUCTOR. If payments then or thereafter due to the CONSTRUCTOR are not sufficient, the OWNER shall charge the CONSTRUCTOR for the cost of the loss or damage and the CONSTRUCTOR shall promptly pay amounts due to the OWNER.Any defects discovered in such materials or equipment shall be reported at once to the OWNER. Following receipt of written notice from the CONSTRUCTOR of defects, the OWNER shall promptly inform the CONSTRUCTOR what action, if any, the CONSTRUCTOR shall take with regard to the defects. Construction Set Documents are the Project Manual and Drawings with the addendum(a) incorporated within the documents. Five (5) copies of the Construction Set Documents will be made available to the CONSTRUCTOR without cost. Additional copies of the Construction Set Documents can be acquired upon request for a fee. Electronic documents are also available from the Design Professional .Copies of the Project Manual and Drawings with loose addendum(a) (not incorporated within) will be made available upon request at no cost. Cost of reproduction and handling will be borne by the CONSTRUCTOR if number exceeds what is available. Submit two (2) hard copies and one (1) electronic copy of final volumes, incorporating all comments received, within ten (10) days after substantial completion observation. Four (4) copies of the Application for Payment shall be submitted to the DESIGN PROFESSIONAL at the meeting for review and signature. Submit three (3) copies of request for Substitution, two (2) copies to DESIGN PROFESSIONAL and one (1) copy to OWNER, for consideration. Limit each request to one proposed Substitution.
