Saving Project...

Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Troy, New York. Completed plans call for the construction of a 45,000-square-foot municipal facility; for site work for a 100-space sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

As of August 8, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. https://www.bizjournals.com/albany/news/2024/07/01/troy-city-hall-proposals-carmella-mantello.html July 01, 2024 The city of Troy received eight proposals for a new, permanent city hall by the June 28 deadline, Mayor Carmella Mantello announced. An in-house committee will review the submissions, conduct interviews and narrow down the choices. Mantello, a Republican, expects a decision will be made and a contract awarded within the next three months. "We are eager to see what our options are and hope to find a permanent space that is fiscally responsible and embodies the pride and history of Troy," Mantello said in a prepared statement. The mayor's office declined to release further details about the submissions. Troy City Council President Sue Steele and council members Aaron Vera and Katie Spain-McLaren, all Democrats, issued a joint statement urging Mantello to "pause" the effort to find a new city hall and instead prioritize projects such as a new swimming pool in Knickerbacker Park and replacing the fire station in Lansingburgh. "Now is not the time to divert taxpayer dollars for an unnecessary project at the expense of basic municipal needs," they said. Mantello sought the proposals in April for a permanent city hall to replace the leased offices on the fifth floor of Hedley Park Place at 433 River St. The city's lease has expired but it remains a tenant. First Columbia owns the building. The city sought a location with 30,000 to 45,000 square feet, public access, ADA compliance or the potential for such compliance, 80 to 100 parking spaces and proximity to public transportation. City government has been in leased offices since the deteriorating former city hall at One Monument Square was vacated and demolished in 2011. Mantello became mayor in January after serving as council president for eight years. _____________________________________________________________ Reference Number 0000350143 The City of Troy, NY is soliciting sealed proposals to provide the City of Troy with feasible and controllable options for the relocation of City Hall.
