Site work for a water / sewer project in Concord, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

PROJECT OVERVIEW The New Hampshire Geological Survey (NHGS), a unit within the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), is seeking bids for the installation of nine (9) bedrock monitoring wells to be located throughout the State of New Hampshire. The newly installed wells will be incorporated into the New Hampshire Groundwater Level Monitoring Network, which monitors groundwater level variations as indicators of drought and water resource availability across the State. Prospective bidders may provide bids on any subset of the nine bedrock well installation locations included in this Invitation to Bid document. Providing a bid on all bedrock well installation locations included in this invitation to bid is not required for bid consideration. However, provision of bids on a minimum of four of the nine bedrock well installation locations is required for consideration. The locations of the nine bedrock well installation locations are in the towns of: Ashland, Carroll, Chester, Claremont, Conway, Hillsborough, Lincoln, Stoddard, and Windham, New Hampshire. The bedrock wells are to be drilled using air-rotary drilling techniques to install the boreholes into bedrock. Permanent steel casing minimum 6-inches in diameter will be installed through the overburden above bedrock, as well as a minimum of 10 feet into competent (un-weathered) bedrock. The permanent steel casing will be cement grouted into competent bedrock and left to cure overnight. Final depth of the bedrock wells will be determined during drilling based on field observations of groundwater conditions but are anticipated to be no more than 500 feet total depth below ground surface. Once drilled, the bedrock portion of the wells will be left as open boreholes with no screen or internal casing installed. After completion of the drilling of the wells, the contractor will pump the wells by air-lift method to develop the wells and determine the yield of the wells. Locking caps will be provided and installed at the top of the steel casing. Site preparation, best management practices for fluid and sediment runoff control measures, and site restoration will be performed by the contractor. No well pumps, water piping, or utility trenches will be required for the bedrock wells. The wells will be installed by a licensed New Hampshire water well contractor in good standing in adherence to all applicable New Hampshire laws and rules. A water well contractor holding a technical drilling license is preferred, but not required for consideration Questions or requests for accommodations can be addressed to: Michael Howley New Hampshire Geological Survey New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services michael.w.howley@des.nh.gov LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT The types of services required under this AGREEMENT shall be BEDROCK WELL INSTALLATION, as defined herein, which the DEPARTMENT may require until the completion date of this AGREEMENT. The nine (9) BEDROCK WELL INSTALLATION sites for this project are located in the towns of: Ashland, Carroll, Chester, Claremont, Conway, Hillsborough, Lincoln, Stoddard, and Windham, New Hampshire. SCOPE OF WORK All work conducted under this work scope shall be conducted in conformance with the New Hampshire Water Well Board's Code of Administrative Rules, We 100-1000, by a drilling contractor holding a current water well contractor license issued by the New Hampshire Water Well Board.
