This RFQ is for the 4th and final phase of the SSJ2 project: SSJ2 Phase 4 Junction Chamber and associated piping, and is located along 56 Avenue, east of 152nd Street, where the SSJ (west leg), Surrey Central Valley (SCV) Trunk Sewer (north leg), and Cloverdale Forcemains No. 1 and 2 (east leg) combine. Currently, the three sewers are tied-in with mitres and wyes that are aging, aligned with poor hydraulics, and require replacement. The proposed Phase 4 for SSJ2 includes construction of the approximate amounts of work: A 12 metres wide by 9-metre-long junction chamber with access hatches, gates, stop logs and adjacent precast chambers to house the stop logs and gates. Two tie-in chambers, each approximately 6 metres by 7 metres: tie-in chamber #1 will be built around the existing SSJ box sewer and tie-in chamber #2 will be constructed to tie-in the existing and future Cloverdale Forcemains. 14 metres of 2134mm concrete pipe between tie-in chamber #2 and the junction chamber. 42 metres of 1829mm Cloverdale Forcemain from tie-in chamber #2 to the junction chamber. 10 metres of 1067mm steel Cloverdale Forcemain No. 2 from the existing pipe to tie-in chamber #2, including a tie-in to the existing steel pipe. 45 metres of 3048mm SSJ2 concrete sewer. 80 metres of 1829mm SSJ Relocation Sewer. This includes 25 metres of sewer along 153A Street, a transition spool piece and construction joints to complete the tie-in at the southern end of the relocation sewer. 2 metres of 525mm concrete drainage sewer, 70 metres of 900mm PVC drainage sewer, headwall and drainage ditch construction. On site grading and relocation of the existing driveway from Highway 10. Temporary works required for construction include measures to bypass sewer flow and isolate work areas within the existing sewers to complete tie-ins. As of this preliminary stage, temporary work is predicted to include the following: Construction of a temporary 1200mm gravity bypass under the existing 1420mm by 1750mm SSJ sewer, Removing a section of the SSJ inside the tie-in chamber #1 and completing benching within the tie-in chamber using precast concrete blocks, Blocking the existing SSJ downstream of the 'King of Floors' property to complete the tie-in of the 1829mm SSJ Relocation sewer, Removing the section of the SSJ and constructing the proposed 1829mm SSJ sewer, tying into the 1829mm sewer downstream of the 'King of Floors' property, and Constructing the remaining section of 3048mm sewer.
