Renovation of a municipal facility in Rapid City, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
MRF DRUM ELECTRICAL ROOM IMPROVEMENTS This project will replace the existing electrical switchgear with equipment that meets current electrical and building codes. Each proposal must contain a certified check or cashier's check for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Such check shall be certified or issued by either a State or National Bank and payable to the City of Rapid City, Rapid City, South Dakota, or in lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, and such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in this state and payable to the City of Rapid City, Rapid City, South Dakota, as a guarantee of the Bidder entering into a contract for the construction of the work and furnishing of a 100 percent (100%) performance bond. After this has been accomplished, the Bidder's check or bid bond will be returned, and the checks or bonds of all unsuccessful bidders will be returned upon thirty (30) days after the bids have been opened. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive all informalities and to accept the bid that is to the advantage of and is in the best interest of the City of Rapid City. The Solid Waste Division is in need of professional engineering services for design, bidding, and construction for the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Drum Electrical Room Improvements Project. The project will replace the existing main electrical service switchboard and electrical service conductors located in the MRF. The existing electrical equipment has reached the end of its useful life and needs replacement. The consultant will evaluate the existing conditions and will recommend/design the proper modifications to ensure that the new equipment meets current electrical and building codes. Coordination with the City and its consultants will be necessary to ensure the proposed improvements align with other planned and future projects at the MRF
