a asphaltic walkways.
2. This proposal shall include the work to replace and resurface asphalt walkways throughout two
(2) Redford Township municipal parks located at Claude Allison Park and Handy Park (see
attached site layouts). The asphalt walkways to be reviewed and acknowledged for the work
under this proposal.
NEW ASPHALT PATHWAYS to be constructed as follows:
Layout and establish sub-grade for new pathways with off-site disposal of spoils.
Remove existing asphalt in areas designated for replacement, grade and compact exiting base for
paving.
Install 8 of 21AA crushed concrete as base for paving, grade and compact in place.
(base will be installed a minimum of 10 wide for a 9 wide asphalt surface)
Pave prepared areas with 4 of asphalt compacted in place (2 of 4E1 and 2 of 5E1 asphalt).
Turf restoration, if necessary, to be completed by Owner.
RESURFACE EXISTING ASPHALT PATHWAYS to be constructed as follows:
Edge existing pathways to expose entire asphalt surface (assumed wide).
Torch weeds, clean and apply tack coat to areas.
Paver wedge badly damaged areas with hot mix asphalt compacted in place.
Resurface prepared pathways with 2 of 5E1 asphalt compacted in place, provide 2 average
compacted thickness.
Turf restoration, if necessary, to be completed by Owner.
