Asbestos abatement and renovation of a mixed-use development in Memphis, Tennessee. Completed plans call for asbestos abatement for a educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.

This project calls for the abatement of 9”x 9” flooring, carpet, and cove base in multiple classrooms and an adjacent hallway at 230 Henry Ave. Scope of Work below to include the following: The abatement and disposal of all specified floor tiles, and replace with VCT or equivalent tiles. Removal of furniture, equipment, and storage will be performed by the contractor to complete the work and return to original positioning, with the owner's approval. The abatement for this project shall meet all applicable laws and regulations associated with this project. Any and all code requirements will be followed to meet the requirements of this project. Scope 1. Flooring Work Consists of the following: a. Abate and discard existing 9”x 9” floor tiles and cove base. b. Install new VCT or equivalent flooring, and 6” black cove base. c. Clean and wax new flooring to meet customer approval. d. Sections of flooring to be removed per above are as follows: i. Abate and replace the section of VCT hallway flooring next to room 102A at the girl’s restroom (dimensions: 40’ x 12’). ii. Replace carpet tiles in the middle school library Room 106. iii. Abate and replace floor tile for the following rooms: 105, 107, 109, 110, 111, 133, Assistant Principal Room 130, P.E. Coach’s Room 129, 208, 210, 219, 220, 256, 257, 263 and 265. Alternate A. Repair and remove old mastic / adhesive from walls in Room 106 and repaint. B. Abate and replace existing 9” x 9” VCT floor tiles and cove base per above throughout 2nd floor hallway A. BID BOND: Bidders are required to submit a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total estimated contract amount, as determined by KMPS and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that may exceed $100K. Should the Bidder withdraw their bid response without entering into a contract, the Bid Bond may be forfeited in whole or in part. B. PERFORMANCE AND LABOR BOND: The successful Bidder(s) will be required to submit a performance and/or labor bond, Cashier's or Certified Check in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total estimated contract amount, as determined by KMPS and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that exceeds $100K.
