Renovation of a municipal facility in Sanford, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
SCOPE OF WORK Lee County is Soliciting Bids for masonry repairs to the Lee County Historic Courthouse window lintels above approximately six windows. These damaged lintels which are mostly found on the second story need repair due to brownstone keystone and/or capstones separating from wall due to mortar deterioration. The masonry work includes complete resetting of jack-arch window lintels above identified windows and inspection of all lintels to ensure their safety, stability, and condition. Bids should include total cost of all labor, materials, and equipment to provide the following: o Repair brownstone window lintels on identified windows. o Include replacement of decorative brownstone keystone caps (only if original stone damaged in disassembly). All replacement brownstone must be approved by Lee County before installation. o Inspection of other window lintel masonry joints to identify other failing joints or loose window lintels not identified in this proposal. o If other window lintels are identified as in need of immediate repairs, notify Lee County representative before performing additional work. o Provide cost estimate per window lintel repair for any additional window lintels that are identified for repair through closer inspection. Brownstone window lintel repairs: 1. All joints in window jack arch lintels to be repointed As necessary 2. Remove all sealant at all locations where found and Replace by repointing the match the existing in accordance With the specifications 3. Remove large center keystone and the smaller stones on One of the jack arches to analyze the existing wall Anchoring system and to determine rootcause on why the Jack arch stones are pulling loose from the existing Building wall 4. The window jack arch lintels in the following Window locations included: A. First floor: 115 B. Second floor: 211, 215, 216, 217, 225, 226 5. The existing decorative brownstone keystone caps at the Following windows are to be removed and replaced. If Substitution or replacement reqiured please remake with Mortar material to match dimensions and profile of the Existing cap and color of adjacent keystone. See drawings And specifications. COMPLETION DATE All work as required in these specifications shall be completed by 07/01/2024. Requests for extensions must be made in writing to the County of Lee and authorized by an agent of the County if unforeseen conditions make it necessary to do so.
