This project seeks to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of the electrical infrastructure along the Michigan Line by replacing approximately thirty (30) generators, each tailored to specific power requirements. Initially, the contractor will conduct a comprehensive survey to assess the existing conditions, power needs, functionality, and key features of the current utilities and electrical systems. Following the assessment, new generators will be installed along the line, in compliance with state, city, and Amtrak standards. The installation process will be carefully planned to minimize service disruptions while maintaining high safety and efficiency standards. Amtrak, (Owner), is seeking professional services to perform construction work including but not limited to the following: Amtrak shall have an option at any time, in its sole discretion, to add additional services associated with additional phases of this project to the scope of the Contract, subject to Amtrak's receipt of an acceptable proposal or proposals for such services from Contractor. Nothing herein shall obligate Amtrak to exercise options for award to the Contractor. In an effort to provide "maximum practicable opportunity" to participate in the provision of goods and services to Amtrak, prime firms under agreement with Amtrak are required to put forth Good Faith Efforts to contract with Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs). Therefore, a DBE subcontracting plan goal shall be established for this opportunity.
