Washington County is removing and replacing its salt shed at its North Shop facility. A contractor has been secured for the installation of the new salt shed. This Request for Quote (RFQ) has been prepared by Washington County to secure services for bituminous paving in and around the new salt shed area prior to erecting the new shed. Such as, to notify the county of any inconsistency or ambiguity in this RFQ and for all questions pertaining to this RFQ, all questions and notifications must be sent via e-mail to the County Authorized Representative: Mike Kline, EIT michael.kline@co.washington.mn.us Municipal Meeting 05/22/2024 All aspects of the scope of services outlined below and included herein are expected to be completed. The 2020 edition of the Minnesota Department of Transportation "Standard Specifications For Construction" shall govern. All work must be completed according to the Plans (Appendix B) and Geotechnical Report (Appendix C). The work to be performed is not to exceed a specified amount. County authorized work completed outside the original scope may qualify for additional compensation. Bituminous paving work will not occur until the new shed footings have been set and the area has been prepped for paving. Coordination with the salt shed Contractor and Washington County is required to establish a paving date. Paving is expected to occur in mid-late June of 2024. Once paving operations have begun the contractor will have 3 days to complete all paving operations. The bituminous pavement mix design shall follow the "Heavy Duty Areas" section as shown in Table B in the geotechnical report (Appendix C). The pavement thicknesses shall be 2 1/2 " for bituminous wear and 2 1/2 " for bituminous base course.
