Renovation of a municipal facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,200-square-foot municipal facility.
The Project is Generally Described as Follows: Approximately 2200 S.f. Of Roof Replacement Over Portions of the City Building. New Roof Assembly Will Consist of a Single-ply Membrane and Polyiso Insulation. Utilization Goals Refer to the Percentage of Work Performed by Mbe or Wbe Subcontractors on the Project. (2) a Workforce Participation Goal of 20% Mbe and 15% Wbe. Workforce Participation Goals Refer to the Percentage of Minority and Female Individuals Employed on a Project. Bidders Will Be Required to Show That They Have Met One or Both of the Above Diversity Goals or That They Have Made, or Commit to Making, Good Faith Efforts to Reach Those Goals. Sufficiency of Good Faith Efforts May Vary Depending on the Type of Contract, the Type of Products and/or Services to Be Provided, and the Duration of the Contract. Each Bid Shall Be Accompanied by an Acceptable Form of Bid Guaranty in an Amount Equal to at Least Ten Percent (10%), as a Guarantee That if the Bid is Accepted, the Bidder Will Execute the Contract and All Other Contract Documents and File Acceptable Contract Bond and Proof of Insurance Within Fourteen (14) Days After the Award of the Contract and Prior to Commencement of Work. The City of Champaign, Illinois, Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids or Portions Thereof and to Waive Any Formality or Technicality in Any Bids in the Interest of the City. The Criteria for Selection of the Lowest Responsible Bidder Are Set Forth in Section 12.5-38 of the Champaign Municipal Code, 1985, as Amended and the Bid Documents. To the Extent Required by Law, the Contractor Shall Comply With the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, the Veteran's Preference Act, the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, the City's Equal Opportunity in Purchasing Ordinance and the Illinois Human Rights Act. If Federal Funds Are Used to Finance This Project, the Contractor Shall Comply With the Davis-bacon Act. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Scope of Work: Roof replacement of the existing Champaign City Building. The project shall include at minimum, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 1. Removal of existing roofing, flashings, etc. 2. Miscellaneous carpentry work related to roofing, blocking, and sheathing repair. 3. Installation of single-ply membrane roof assembly 4. Removal and reinstallation of mechanical units. B. The General Contractor will be solely responsible for protection of the building from weather, maintaining a weathertight insulated enclosure at the project area. C. In the absence of any specific instruction or specification, employ workmanship and material approved by Architect (PSC) with quality equal to that in contract documents. D. Installation of material or equipment or performance of work, service, or labor requiring Architect prior approval without first securing approval is cause for rejection and correction of the work without additional compensation or extension of contract time.
