Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Aurora, Illinois. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Rehabilitation of the New York Street Memorial Bridge over the Fox River located between Illinois Route 25 and River Street. The estimated construction cost is $17,600,000. Federal participation for the project will be 80% of construction and engineering costs. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will front-fund the cost of construction and invoice the city for its 20% share. The city will front-fund the cost of engineering and IDOT will reimburse 80%. The city has begun Phase I engineering and the project is eligible for Federal Highway Funds. The project is included in the City's 2024-2033 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 7, 2024, project is in design/engineering phase. Engineer has been identified. Construction expected 2026 at the earliest. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
