Renovation of a data center facility in La Puente, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a data center facility.
The District Office Data Center project includes the relocation of the District's existing data center. The data center supports the District's approximately 3,000 employees and 16,500 K-12 students. The work effort includes working in and around an operating data center which supports critical network and voice functions at the District Office and at each school within the District. It is critical to the project and to ongoing operations throughout the District that no unplanned outages to the incoming service provider equipment, data center equipment and data center supporting equipment take place during the duration of the project. Contractors proposing on the project are required to provide documentation confirming their ability and past experience of working on similar projects that include the upgrade or replacement of electrical, HVAC and low voltage infrastructure and equipment. The following prequalification information is required from each contractor. The District will review and confirm all information provided. If the public project includes electrical, plumbing and/or mechanical work that will be performed by electrical, plumbing and/or mechanical subcontractors holding any of the following California Contractor State License classifications, C-4, C-7, C-10, C16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46 such subcontractors shall, for purposes of prequalification, be considered Contractors and must be required to apply for and obtain Prequalification status. If a General Contractor, holding a B or A license, also holds one of the aforementioned specialty license classifications and intends to self perform any electrical, plumbing and/or mechanical work, the General Contractor must also prequalify under its specialty license classification. All questions regarding the Prequalification Application or Prequalification process must be submitted to purchasing@hlpusd.k12.ca.us. The District is under no obligation to answer any questions.
