The River Road Multimodal Improvements includes making improvements to River Road between 3rd St and 7th St including relocating the concrete barrier with a lane reduction, widening the sidewalk to accommodate a multi-use path, lighting improvements, signal improvements, fire hydrant water work, and other amenities. Bidders and DBE subcontractors must be prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and possess a Certificate of Eligibility at the time of the bid opening. The Contract is a unit price project. Estimated quantities appear in the bid schedule only for the purpose of comparing the Bid Proposals. Louisville Metro only will pay the Contractor for the actual quantities of work performed and accepted or materials furnished according to the Contract. Louisville Metro may increase, decrease, or omit the estimated quantities of work and materials furnished. Bidder is required to furnish a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of its Total Bid. This may be in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check or Cashier's Check. No personal checks will be accepted. The Bid Bond shall be supplied at the time of the Bid opening. The successful Bidder must submit a performance bond satisfactory to the Metro Government executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Kentucky, or otherwise supplied, satisfactory to the Metro Government, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as it may be increased. The successful Bidder must submit a payment bond satisfactory to the Metro Government, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Kentucky, or otherwise supplied, satisfactory to the Metro Government, for the protection of all persons supplying labor and material to the Bidder or its subcontractors for the performance of the work provided for in this Bid. The bond shall be in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the original contract price. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal established for this contract is six percent (5%) of the total value of the contract.
