PROJECT SUMMARY The project consists of renovation to the existing EH&S Waste Disposal Lab Facility at the University of Oregon. This facility collects, manages, and disposes of various chemical and hazardous waste from UO science complex and wider campus activities. The facility has operated out of a suite of rooms constructed in 1981 for this purpose connected to the east ground floor core of Onyx Bridge. Over time a handful of additions and renovations further expanded the facility incorporating space for EH&S staff offices which since been relocated. Programming and Conceptual Design was established through the 2023 Concept Study performed by Rowell Brokaw Architects and System West Engineers as Attachment A. Location: The project is located on the University of Oregon Campus, in Onyx Bridge on the ground floor level located at 1230 Franklin Blvd. Eugene, Oregon The Owner seeks to retain services of a multidisciplinary design team with expertise in, but not limited to architecture, and MEP engineering to lead the Project. The project will consist of verification of the 2023 Concept Study, Design Development documents, and a cost estimate. Work will start as soon as this Contract is executed, anticipated to be Monday, June 24, 2024. The selected firm will work collaboratively with the Project Team to develop the Design Development drawings and specification. The selected firm must be ready to commit key personnel to the Project immediately following selection. Upon conclusion of initial stage, it is the intent of the Owner to execute an Architect's Amendment for the remaining Work required to develop the Project from Design Development through Closeout. Firms selected for interviews (if required) will be notified by telephone and e-mail no later than Thursday, May 28, 2024, which are tentatively planned for Wednesday - Friday, June 12 - 14, 2024. Interview times will be based on the order in which the submittals were received in Design & Construction, with the earliest received having first choice. Protests regarding the solicitation and Request for Qualifications must be made in writing to Michael Harwood, Vice President of Campus Planning & Facilities Management at the above address by 5:00pm on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Protests regarding the selection of firms to interview must be made in writing to Michael Harwood at the above address no later than five calendar days after the date of notification of the interview list.
