The Town of Edgartown, through its Owners Project Manager (OPM), is issuing a Request for Qualifications for Construction Manager at Risk Services for the Edgartown Fire Station new construction project, located at 68 Peases Point Way S, Edgartown, MA 02539. This RFQ is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process as set forth. This project is being funded by the Town of Edgartown. The Fire Station is approx. 17,800sq/ft and includes construction of new equipment building followed by demolition of sections of the existing station and construction of new station. The estimated total cost of construction is $15,408,800. The estimated construction duration is 16 months. The project is currently in the Schematic Design (SD) phase. Immediate CM services will be required starting with completion of the Design phase for the Equipment Building, procurement and construction. The project will progress through construction contract documents, bidding, and construction. The Edgartown Fire Station is located on a 2.6-acre parcel at 68 Pease's Point Way South, Edgartown, Massachusetts 02539. The property hosts the Fire Department and the Police Department, which operate out of separate buildings. The feasibility study outlined some of the major deficiencies facing the existing building that would require upgrading and expanding to meet today's demands and general code compliance. Part of the study proffered a new design based on the equipment and needs of the current fire department to operate safely and more efficiently with an eye towards potential future needs. The estimated square feet of the Fire Station and the Equipment Building came out to be approximately 17,800 sq/ft. The work on this Project must include Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation. The EFSBC will set separate MBE and WBE participation goals specific to this Project prior to issuing the RFP (see Section I.E below concerning Phase Two, RFP phase of this procurement). These distinct MBE and WBE participation goals will be based on information specific to this Project, including estimated Project costs.
