Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Improvements to Arthur T. Talmadge Elementary School will include installation of sediment erosion controls; bituminous and cement concrete pavement; earthwork; installation of owner-supplied pavilion and furnishings; sport court surfacing; site restoration and landscaping. The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on May 3, 2024 in order to be considered. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Contractor shall provide control of site access and activities, mobilize personnel, equipment, and materials to the project site, install erosion controls, provide maintenance of the project area and facilities in existing condition or better, and coordinate with the Engineer as required by the specifications or as deemed necessary by the Engineer. B. The Contractor shall keep a record set of prints on which they are to record all approved changes and/or additions to the work made to meet field conditions. This set of drawings is to be given to the Owner at the completion of their work for their use. C. The Contractor shall have a minimum of five years' experience in site construction and installation of pavilions. D. Substantial Completion shall be attained by August 30, 2024, and Final Completion by September 15, 2024. Liquidated damages at $1,000 per day shall apply for non-completion by the final completion date. E. Contractor shall obtain and pay fees for all necessary permits, including building permit with the City's Building Department.
