The Town of Wallingford is accepting for "North Turnpike Sanitary Sewer Main Improvements". General Description of Work: The work, as proposed by the Wallingford Sewer Division and covered under this Specification, shall consist of but may not be limited to; pavement cutting, soil excavation, rock excavation, removal of existing sewer mains and manholes, furnishing and installing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and ductile iron pipe, manholes, couplings, accessories, and appurtenances, by-pass pumping, connections to existing sanitary sewer mains, reconnecting existing sanitary sewer laterals, backfilling with approved granular fill, pavement restoration, traffic persons, maintenance and protection of traffic, Class "C" concrete, application of loam and seed, miscellaneous work and cleanup, and all other work required for the sewer main replacements as specified herein and shown on the Drawings. Some of the existing sewer main is asbestos cement pipe and must be removed and disposed of properly in accordance with all applicable regulations. The work covered under this specification shall be in conformance with the requirements of the Sewer Rules and Regulations, the Sewer Technical Standards and the Standard Detail Sheets of the Town of Wallingford, Sewer Division except as otherwise and more particularly specified herein. The Sewer Technical Standards and Standard Detail Sheets have been included herein as Appendix B. In the instance of conflicting specifications or requirements, the more stringent specifications shall take precedence over all other referenced standards. The Town of Wallingford is seeking a vendor to provide a new sewer main to eliminate poor flow conditions in Manhole 22003. Owner Rights: The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to amend and/or cancel the bid invitation prior to the time and date of the bid opening. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE: 5/23/2024 5:00 PM AMOUNT OF BID SURETY 10% See General Terms & Conditions PERFORMANCE BOND : 100% See General Terms & Conditions Description: This Item shall consist offurnishing all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary for pavement cutting and removal; excavation and backfill; furnishing, installing and testing sanitary sewer pipe; furnishing and placing 3/4" crushed stone and filter fabric around pipe; removing and replacing walls, fences, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, concrete curbing, bituminous curbing, signs, guard rails, and any other structures that must be removed to carry out the work; care and protection of existing pipes, utilities, overhead electric, telephone, cables, poles, and other structures; dust control; piling and storing of excavated materials; disposing of all unsuitable excavated materials; sheeting and shoring; dewatering; traffic control; continuous by-pass sewage pumping; installation and removal of temporary by-pass pumping connections; furnishing, placing and compacting granular fill and/or 3/4" crushed stone for backfill; connections to and disconnecting existing sanitary sewer mains; removal and disposal of existing sanitary sewer pipe; including asbestos cement pipe; surface restoration; restoring existing landscaped areas; placing topsoil and seed; and all other work shown on the Contract Drawings and specified herein except work specified and included for payment under other Items ofthis Contract.
