Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Middletown, Delaware. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Pre-bid Meeting: No Location: New Castle County These improvements are more specifically shown on the Location Map(s) of the attached Plans. Description: The purpose of this contract is to repair and improve sections of bituminous concrete pavement and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Pavement or composite pavements on roads in DelDOT North and Canal Districts, New Castle County, Delaware. Work shall include, but is not limited to: saw-cutting, removal of existing PCC or composite pavement, placing concrete and dowel bars, partial depth patching, dowel bar retrofit & longitudinal steel retrofit, diamond grinding, bituminous milling and paving, crack and joint sealing, installing pavement markings, adjusting/repairing drainage inlets, manholes, water valves, and other utilities, installing underdrains, repairing and rehabilitating concrete barrier, curb, median, sidewalk, pedestrian connections and any other related work activities to complete each work order. Follow other incidental construction in accordance with the location, notes and details shown on the plans, and as directed by the Engineer. Completion Time: All work on this contract must be complete within 1,095 Calendar Days. Extensions of contract time due to weather are specified in the Standard Specifications Section 108.7F, weather days. The Department's intent is to issue a Notice to Proceed for work to start on or about September 20, 2024. Questions regarding this project are to be e-mailed to the above address no less than six business days prior to the bid opening date in order to receive a posted response. SURETY BOND - Each proposal must be accompanied by a deposit of either surety bond or security for a sum equal to at least 10% of the amount bid. Performance-based Rating System - 29 Del.c. $6962 (C)(12)(a) Requires Deldot to Include a Performance-based Rating System for Contractors. The Performance Rating for Each Contractor Shall Be Used as a Prequalification to Bid at the Time of Bid. Refer to 'general Notices' for Details.
