Renovation of a multi-residential development in Everett, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.

The Everett Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites written quotes from electrical contractors for the Service Lateral Replacement project for the Everett Housing Authority in Everett, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Nangle Engineering Inc. The Project consists of: Demolition of the existing and failed service lateral conductors, and installation of replacement service lateral conductors and ducts, including all earthwork and coordination and cooperation with the electric utility. The work is estimated to cost $48,000.00 Quotes are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A (2)(B) & to state prevailing wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive. The observation is an opportunity to examine the existing conditions and the conditions under which the Work must proceed. It is not an opportunity to ask questions or obtain interpretation of the quote documents. So that all parties are on an equal footing, all questions must be submitted in writing to the email address on the front cover of the project manual on or before the Friday prior to the date for the receipt of quotes. Any statements made at the site observation are non-binding. A. The scope of work under this Section, without limiting the generality thereof, includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services and incidentals necessary to complete all of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents which are intended to describe and provide for a finished piece of Work, and are to be cooperative; what is called for by either shall be complete in every detail, notwithstanding whether or not every item necessarily involved is particularly mentioned. B. The Work shall generally consist of, but not be limited to: 1. Obtain all permits and inspections; 2. Careful planning and scheduling of the work with all parties; 3. Demolition and lawful disposal of the existing service lateral conductors; 4. Field measuring as required; 5. Provision (furnish and install) of replacement service lateral conductors as specified, including terminations at switchgear end; 6. Provision of underground (PVC) and aboveground (RGS) ducts; 7. All earthwork, including excavation, concrete forming and encasement, backfill and surface restoration to pre-existing or better condition; 8. Removal of shrubs at the building wall as may be required for the installation of the work; 9. Removal and relocation of site features, including but not limited to iron fence sections and posts, US postal service mailbox, bench, etc. 10. Coordination and cooperation with the electric utility; 11. Testing, including megger and rotation testing, and Commissioning; 12. Temporary facilities, including but not limited to traffic and pedestrian controls in the areas of the work; 13. Coordination with the Owner for operation of the existing engine-generator power supply system during power outages; 14. Warranty. C. Execution of Work: Work to be performed in timely and workmanlike fashion. D. All permit fees shall be paid for by the Owner. The Contractor shall request, in writing, a check(s) from the Owner for all permit fees. E. All utility charges shall be paid for by the Owner. F. Restore to match surrounding surfaces any area disturbed or exposed by the Work of this contract. G. Perform work and provide material and equipment as indicated in this Section of the Specifications. Completely coordinate work of this Section and provide a complete and fully functional installation. Although work may not be specifically shown or specified, provide supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances, devices and materials obviously necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation. Remove all debris caused by the work cleaned up daily with access needed for overnight. A. The scope of work under this Section, without limiting the generality thereof, includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services and incidentals necessary to complete all of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents which are intended to describe and provide for a finished piece of Work, and are to be cooperative; what is called for by either shall be complete in every detail, notwithstanding whether or not every item necessarily involved is particularly mentioned. B. Electrical Work shall generally consist of, but not be limited to: 1. Obtain all permits and inspections; 2. Careful planning and scheduling of the work with all parties; 3. Demolition and lawful disposal of the existing service lateral conductors; 4. Field measuring as required; 5. Provision (furnish and install) of replacement service lateral conductors as specified, including terminations at switchgear end; 6. Provision of underground (PVC) and aboveground (RGS) ducts; 7. Coordination and cooperation with the electric utility; 8. Testing, including megger and rotation testing, and Commissioning; 9. Temporary facilities, including but not limited to traffic and pedestrian controls in the areas of the work; 10. Coordination with the Owner for operation of the existing engine-generator power supply system during power outages; 11. Warranty. C. This Contractor shall ensure power is restored at the end of each day. In the event this Contractor starts work, and is unable to complete the work, this Contractor shall provide temporary power until such time as the new installation is in operation and tested by this Contractor. D. All permit and inspection fees for the work of this section shall be paid for by the Owner. Submit paid invoices to Owner for reimbursement or request a check(s) from the Owner in writing payable to the appropriate permit issuing agencies, for the amount(s) of all permits required. E. Restore to match surrounding surfaces any area disturbed or exposed by the Work of this contract. F. Perform work and provide material and equipment as shown on Drawings and as specified or indicated in this Section of the Specifications. Completely coordinate work of this Section with work of others and provide a complete and fully functional installation. G. Drawings and Specifications form complimentary requirements; provide work specified and not shown, and work shown and not specified as though explicitly required by both. Although work is not specifically shown or specified, provide supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances, devices and materials obviously necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation. H. Remove and lawfully dispose of all debris caused by the Contractors’ work. I. Drawings are diagrammatic and indicate general arrangement of systems and work included in Contract. It is not intended to specify or to show every offset, fitting or component; however, Contract Documents require components and materials whether or not indicated or specified as necessary to make the installation complete and operational. J. As work progresses and for duration of Contract, maintain complete and separate set of prints of Contract Drawings at job site at all times. Record work completed and all changes from original Contract Drawings clearly and accurately, including work installed as a modification or addition to the original design. Indicate actual circuiting, light fixture locations, device outlet locations, switch assignments, loadcenter schedule, etc. The scope of work under this Section, without limiting the generality thereof, includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services and incidentals necessary to complete all of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents which are intended to describe and provide for a finished piece of Work, and are to be cooperative; what is called for by either shall be complete in every detail, notwithstanding whether or not every item necessarily involved is particularly mentioned.
