Remodeling and renovation of a military facility in Bremerton, Washington. Completed plans call for the remodel of a military facility.
Scope - This task order is to repair spalling concrete on the exterior of B290, PSNS, NBK Bremerton. A. The contractor shall coordinate with the government representative. B. The contractor is responsible for verifying all existing site conditions, dimensions, and materials prior to the start of work. A. The contractor will furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete this task order. B. The contractor will protect all finish surfaces in and around the area of work as needed to protect from damage during the execution of this project. C. The contractor will use best practices in all aspects during the execution of this project to prevent future corrosion of existing and newly installed materials, achieve maximum bond of repair materials to existing materials, and to provide maximum durability of all repairs made. D. The contractor will move or remove any items, equipment, or obstacles (downspouts, conduit, hardware, etc.) deemed necessary to complete the work, and will reinstall them back to their original locations and functionality after the work is completed. E. The contractor will use best practices in all aspects during the execution of this project to prevent future corrosion of existing and newly installed materials, achieve maximum bond of repair materials to existing materials, and to provide maximum durability of all repairs made. F. The contractor will repair 750 sq. ft. of spalling concrete on the exterior of B290. This will include all visible spalling and cracked concrete (the Government has noted visible spalling/cracking in approximately 68 locations). Repairs will be to the exterior of the building only. ** Damaged areas outlined in DWGs are not fully inclusive of all repair locations. ** 1. Identify and mark all visible spalling/cracked concrete to be repaired. (a) Use “sounding” or other means around the immediate area of visible damage to verify sound concrete and extend repairs a minimum of 2” past damaged concrete. 2. Saw cut a minimum ½” deep around the perimeter of the spalled areas if accessible. (a) Saw cuts will not extend past intersecting cuts at corners. (b) If an area is not accessible for saw cutting, then the contractor will use mechanical or other means to create a shoulder to a depth that meets the repair material manufacturer’s minimum requirements. No “feathering” of repair materials. (c) Repair areas to be uniform in length, width, and depth. 3. Demo the concrete with a light chipping gun or other mechanical means to sound concrete. 4. If rebar is encountered remove concrete below the rebar to whichever depth is greater: A minimum depth of 3/4” or, a depth equal to 1½ times the size of the largest aggregate used in the repair material. he contractor shall provide, labor, materials, and equipment, as required, to accomplish the following work in accordance with the basic contract requirements, incorporated clauses, included drawings, enclosures, references and statements herein: This task order is to repair spalling concrete on the exterior of B290, PSNS, NBK Bremerton. All work must be coordinated with on-going operations in the immediate area, in and around building 290. The contractor shall coordinate all laydown areas and access with the government representative. The contractor will contact the government representative within 14 days after award to coordinate submittals and to discuss pre-construction meeting scheduling. All required submittals must be received/accepted by the government prior to the meeting. A pre-construction meeting agenda will be provided by separate correspondence. The Period of Performance shall be 180 da Date/Time: No later than five (5) days after site walk due by, 9 April 2024, NLT 12:00 P.M
