Reference Number 0000269025 MID RAILS Fabricate two stainless steel mid-rails as per drawings. Chip out tiles and remove two handrails to be re-located (anchors embedded below tiles). Restore stair tread tiles after handrail removals.. Relocate two existing handrails to fabricated mid-rails and connect to existing ramp handrails. Tiles and terrazzo will have to be chipped out to lag post plates below tiles as per drawings. Onsite welding and fabrication possible to connect to existing handrails. GLASS GUARD AND ACCESS GATES Fabricate 2 stainless steel guardrails with laminated glass panels (with gates) for upper concourse as per drawings. Remove existing tactile on upper concourse for guardrail installations. Install 2 stainless steel guardrails complete with glass panels and gates for upper concourse as per drawings. Hardware for gates supplied by TTC (see above for details). Connect guardrail to existing handrails on each side as per drawings. Install tiles in place of removed tactile on upper concourse upon completion of guardrail installations. Special Instructions All OH&S Act & Regulations to be followed during the execution of the work at site. Contractor to perform utility locates prior to drilling for railing anchors. Hoarding (minimum requirement of 6' fast fence with cloth) required to separate construction and protect public. Dust control methods and best practices to be followed when chipping tiles etc. Onsite welding will be required. Power requirements to be discussed during site meeting. Provisions to protect public during on site welding will be required (I.e. Welding barriers and screens, portable exhaust fan). Permit notes shall be followed and any infractions shall be rectified until city inspector passes inspection. New Tiles for restoration shall be provided by the Company as per the Tread and landing tile specifications as below: Tread and Landing Tiles (STN-4) 1. Finish: Waterjet 2.
