Reference Number 0000350728 Job Location: Golden, Colorado Estimated Construction Cost: $1,300,000.00 The Colorado School of Mines requests submittals for prequalification of Mechanical Contractors or General Contractors to upgrade Building 15 at the Denver Federal Center, where Mines occupies leased spaces. A Mechanical Contractor that can show the capability to act as the Prime General Contractor may be selected. The project will include improvements of Mines leased spaces at Building 15 of the Denver Federal Center, comprising approximately 3,500 square feet of office and laboratory spaces. Also included is the installation of a new natural gas fired generator. Mechanical and/or General Contractors must demonstrate recent experience in building improvements of similar size and type in a campus environment. This is Step 1 of a two-step solicitation process where qualification packages will be reviewed, evaluated, and scored for each submitting firm. The highest-ranking firms will be included as pre-qualified, short-listed Mechanical and/or General Contractors. Step 2 will be invitation to short-listed Mechanical and/or General Contractors to bid this project. This prequalification is unique to the project, which includes renovation of approximately 3,500 GSF of laboratory and office space. The scope of the project includes painting, ceiling, and flooring replacements, HVAC upgrades, electrical upgrades and modifications, and the addition of a natural gas generator.
