The Town of Simsbury (the Town) and its Board of Education are seeking a qualified company to make the walkway, drainage, and landscape improvements defined in this document, at 42 Winthrop St. Existing Conditions Summary During the summer of 2023, an attached modular structure behind Tariffville Elementary School was torn down and replaced with a new modular structure containing two classrooms and five offices. The contractors scope of work for this project provided for a rough grade of the site. However, it has become clear that the grounds will experience significant ponding, and erosion if left in its current state. Additionally, a 5 X 140 walkway was based out with ¾ process. Walkway completion was delayed due to the onset of winter The scope of services is generally defined as noted below. Companies submitting proposals are required to include information on how the scope of services will be addressed, including a timeline relative to the tasks defined. 1. Pave the existing 5 X 140 walkway with asphalt millings 2. Grade the drop off to improve safety and drainage 3. Over-seed and straw the entire area after grading 4. Install a 4 drainage sump well on the school side of the walkway, tie in the down leader from the school, and run a 3 solid pipe from the sump around front and side of the modulars to the wooded property line 5. Add ¾ crushed stone approximately 2 to 3 feet off the front and left side of the modulars to assist with drainage and stabilization The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities in any submission, to reject any and/or all submissions, and to accept the proposal that in its judgment is in its best interest.
