Construction work to temporarily resolve the space deficit in waiting for the new hospital planned in Drummondville. Project also includes renovation of medical units of the 7th and 4th floors, and pharmacy. TIMELINE: Contract for architectural consulting services to develop a short and medium-term action plan has been awarded to the consultants (Provencher_Roy + Associés Architectes) following request for proposals # AO-D-024-RT (reference # 1841058). In anticipation of the construction of the new hospital (information on the project covered in the report under ID name: New Hospital in Drummondville 2040), the owner is undertaking short-time actions to identify possible solutions to support service provision while awaiting construction of the new hospital. The study will help define the measures to be implemented quickly, such as a modular building that will house the new emergency department and free up space in the hospital, which will notably allow for the redevelopment of certain areas. These transitional measures aim to meet the growing needs of the population of Drummondville and the surrounding area. Further update in spring/summer, 2026.
