Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Edwardsville, Illinois. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The Madison County Highway Department is in need of Phase I & II engineering services for the replacement of Larcher Bridge (SN 060-3063) located on Larcher Road, 0.28 miles south of New Douglas Road in Section 13 of Olive Township. The project is located on a dead-end road and will require maintaining access to current residences during construction and may involve wetlands. The existing structure consists of a single span wooden deck bridge on 7 steel beams that are supported on concrete closed abutments. Phase I & II engineering are expected to be completed for a Summer 2025 letting. As of May 28, 2025, per owner, this project is still in the preliminary design phase. They anticipated a 2026 construction date. Design team has been identified.
