This project provides for the elimination of Bridge No WB-504, pavement removal at the intersection of Harvison Road and Pleasant Valley Road and the construction of a cul-de-sac to terminate T-869 (Harvison Road) on the west side of the Mainline. Other work to be performed includes Maintenance and Protection of Traffic, Signing and Pavement Marking and site restoration. Work items include, but are not limited to: 1,925 CY Excavation, Various Classes 4,367 SY Superpave Asphalt, Various Types and Depths 3,023 SY Subbase, Various Types and Depths 383 LF Pavement Base Drain, 6" 37 LF 18" Drainage Pipe 150 LF Type 31-S Guide Rail 100 LF Right-of-Way Fence 2,478 SY Topsoil, Furnished and Placed, 6" Depth 1,015 SY Mulch Control Netting 1,042 LF Compost Filter Sock, Various Sizes The project is located at Milepost 61.68, which is approximately 4.68 miles east of the Pittsburgh Interchange; Exit 57 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; and is approximately 5.32 miles west of the Irwin Interchange; Exit 67 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
