Bids will be received on the basis of the following requirements. 1. All contractors must be prequalified by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet. 2. Work must be performed in accordance with the latest edition of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and any Supplemental Specifications. 3. All work will be subject to the direction, inspection, and approval of the Trimble County Board of Education Finance Officer or his designated representative. 4. Contractors shall carry necessary insurance required by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and must submit certificate to Trimble County Board of Education before performing work. 5. Trimble County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive informalities and make awards in a manner deemed to be in the best interest of the Trimble County Board of Education. SCOPE OF SERVICES The work is to be scheduled and completed between July 1, 2024 - August 6, 2024. The required services for the parking lot of the Trimble County Jr/Sr High School located at 1029 Highway 421 North, Bedford, KY 40006 are as outlined below. Marking Asphalt Surfacing Contractor shall provide smooth transitions to all existing surfaces and paving. Cleaning: Sweep surface with power broom supplemented by hand brooms to eliminate loose material and dust. Do not begin marking asphalt surfacing until acceptable to maintenance director. Parking Striping: Use a traffic lane marking paint with chlorinated rubber, alkyd type, FS TT-P-115, Type 1, factory-mixed, quick drying, non-bleeding. Paint with mechanical equipment proving uniform, straight edges applied in one coat at manufacturers recommended rates. Minimum Quality Requirements General: In addition to other specified conditions, comply with the following minimum quality requirements. Test the in-place asphalt concrete base and surface courses for compliance with the requirements for compaction, thickness and surface smoothness. Provide final surfaces of uniform texture, conforming to the required grades. Asphalt concrete materials not complying with specified requirements will not be acceptable. Repair or remove and replace defective paving as directed by maintenance director. There shall be no depressions in the paving or other areas prepared by Contractor that hold water.
