This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Bristol, Tennessee. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The purpose of this bid is for the contractor to intermittently replace in partnership with the City of Bristol, Tennessee a total of approximately 10,000 square feet of sidewalk. Generally, the contractor will be called and notified when one block is ready for forming and pouring. Specific : 1. The City of Bristol, Tennessee will be responsible for all traffic control during the project per MUTCD standards. Roads shall remain open to the public by the use of flagging or other acceptable techniques. Work hours are limited to standard daylight operating hours. 2. The City of Bristol, Tennessee shall be responsible for removing existing concrete sidewalks and disposing of the spoil material. Sidewalk Closed signs shall be used to ensure pedestrian safety during the project. 3. The City of Bristol, Tennessee shall install 4 inches of compacted Class A Grade D stone as a base for the new sidewalks. 4. Contractor will be responsible for forming of the sidewalk and using appropriate safety equipment to ensure for the safety of the general public. 5. The width of the new sidewalk shall be a minimum of five feet in width. Field adjustments will be allowed upon approval of the inspector of the project. 6. The depth of the sidewalk will be a minimum of 4 inches thick. Minimum depth for driveway sections shall be 6 inches thick. 7. The City of Bristol, Tennessee shall be responsible for ordering the concrete and placing it on their account. 8. Contractor shall pour 4,000 psi concrete with 4% air entrained. 9. Contractor shall provide a smooth and level surface that meets all applicable ADA standards for grade and cross slope. The City Inspector will inspect all form work for ADA standards before concrete is poured. 10. Contractor shall provide shall provide expansion joints every five feet and around all fixed objects in the sidewalk. A non-slip broomed surface shall be provided. 11. The City of Bristol, Tennessee shall provide ADA detectable warning mats for the project. 12. Contractor will be responsible for placing the ADA detectable mats while pouring the concrete. 13. The City of Bristol, Tennessee shall be responsible for all restoration work related to the sidewalk project. This may include landscaping using dirt, seed and straw and also restoring asphalt and or gravel as needed on driving surfaces. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each proposal by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond to the City of Bristol, TN. The successful Vendor shall furnish approved Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount. Successful vendors are required to comply with the City of Bristol, TN insurance requirements. In order to comply, list the name of the project, contract number, name, address, and contractor's license number of the Bidder, expiration date of the Contractor's license, the classification applying to this bid, and date and time of opening. All contractor information must be included for any of the above types of contractors. If this information is not listed, the bid will be deemed non-responsive. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids received and to waive informalities on all or any part of any bid which may be deemed to be in the best interests of the City.
