The Owner plans to build a new (2) Story facility, that will house grades 9- 10 in 4 Career Academies with the academies located on the first and second floors. The high school will house 2,200 students with a maximum of 2,500 students approximately 330,277 square feet with Athletic and Fine Art spaces designed for the full capacity of 2,500 students. There will be over 300 parking spaces provided on the site to accommodate faculty and visitor parking. The facility will be located on an undeveloped portion of the Owner's property, roughly 36 acres located along Community Drive to the north and C. E. King Parkway to the west, with the Sam Houston Beltway to the east, a sand pit in the northwest corner and residential development to the south. The undersigned agrees that, if the proposal is accepted, the Date of Commencement shall be June 20, 2024, which will be established in a "Notice to Proceed" from the Owner and to obtain Substantial Completion of all work not later than June 9, 2026, subject to extensions of time as described in the Contract Documents.The Owner reserves the right to accept one or more Submissions or reject any or all Submissions received in response to this RFP, and to waive informalities and irregularities in the Submissions received. A bond in the amount of five (5) percent of the proposal issued by an acceptable surety licensed to do business in the State of Texas shall be submitted with each proposal. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Owner or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Proposal Bond. Respondents are advised that performance and payment bonds are required for each project.
