Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Aurora, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and municipal facility.

Scope of Services: Phase 1 of the sitework required for the construction of an approximately 200,000 SF public works facility, which included mass grading of the 25-acre parcel, installation of onsite utilities, pavement (stone and binder) for the central road and west storage yard, construction of a salt storage dome, and more, was recently completed. Construction of the main building is ongoing and construction of a new onsite fueling station is set to begin in Summer 2024. Phase 2 includes all remaining site work such as stone, curb/gutter and binder asphalt east of the central road (around main building and fueling station), surface asphalt throughout the site, fencing, reinforced concrete site walls, and minor landscaping and utility work. . There will be no pre-bid meeting for this RFB. Prequalification of Bidders as contained in Check Sheet LRS6 in the "Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions" is required on this project. All proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guaranty as outlined in the Proposal form. 4. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in Standard Provisions for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals contained in the "Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions". 5. Any bidder who owes the City money may be disqualified at the City's discretion. 6. The City encourages minority business firms to submit proposals and encourages the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. 7. Submission of a bid shall be conclusive assurance and warranty the bidder has examined the plans and understands all requirements for the performance of work. The bidder will be responsible for all errors in the proposal resulting from failure or neglect to conduct an in-depth examination. The Awarding Authority will, in no case be responsible for any costs, expenses, losses or changes in anticipated profits resulting from such failure or neglect of the bidder. 8. The City of Aurora has a local preference ordinance that would apply to this contract. Work Included: Chain link fencing and gates required for this Work is indicated on the Drawings and includes necessary accessories.
