Project Description: The project comprises the painting of the corridors, dorm rooms and bathrooms on floors 7-11 of the Alumni Hall. Painting contractor is responsible for moving all furniture into the middle of the room and protecting it during the work. No furniture will be allowed to be moved out of the room. Upon completion, all furniture will be returned to its general location in the rooms. No staking is permitted. You must email your bid to purchasingbids@fitnyc.edu in PDF format and it should include all the requested documents (See Attachment A - Bid Checklist) including a scanned image of your bid security (Certified Check of 2 percent or Bid Bond of 10 percent of your total bid price), we'll also need you to mail us the original copy of the bid security to have on file. The bid security must either be mailed to 227 W 27th Street, New York, NY 10001 or dropped off at 333 7th Avenue (16th Floor), New York, NY 10001. Concurrently with the delivery of the executed Contract, Contractor shall furnish to FIT and maintain, at its own cost and expense a Performance Bond in an amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for faithful performance of the Contract and also a Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price for the payment of all persons performing labor on the project under the contract or furnishing materials in connection with the Contract. The surety on such bonds shall be a surety company rated B+ or better by A.M. Best Company, shall be licensed to do business in the State of New York, and shall hold a certificate of authority as an acceptable surety on federal bonds or otherwise satisfactory to FIT. All bidders will be notified of the bid results by the end of the bid due date. Bid results are not official until each package has been fully reviewed. Bidder shall examine the Bid documents carefully. Before bidding, Bidder shall make any requests for interpretation of Bid documents or clarification of any ambiguity therein that should have been detected by a reasonably prudent Bidder. Questions shall be submitted in writing to the attention of Purchasing Department via email: purchasingbids@fitnyc.edu, no later than Thursday, April 18 2024 on or before 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 3rd, 2024: FIT to award contract to Painting Contractor
Tuesday, May 28th, 2024: Painting Contractor may begin all work on site.
Friday, July 19, 2024: Final Completion & Demobilization
