Renovation and addition to a fire / police facility in Chappaqua, New York. Completed plans call for the addition of a fire / police facility; and for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
As of June 14, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.c The New Castle Fire District No 1 will be constructing renovations and additions to the existing station. 1. The Owner is a tax-exempt entity. 2. The Owner will waive fees for the General Building Permit for this project. The GCC is responsible for filing the application to obtain this permit. 3. DOT, State, County, and other local fees and/or permits are in force for this project. 4. Bidders shall be required to use a surety authorized to do business in the State of New York. Said surety shall be used for all bonds required. 5. Any reference to Contractor shall mean any Prime Contractor. 6. Any reference to Prime Contractors indicates the five (5) contractors in the contracting areas listed above. 7. Each Prime Contractor is responsible for all the requirements contained in Divisions 00 and 01 of these specifications and the entire set of contract documents. 8. It is the responsibility of each Prime Contractor to forward addenda and other pertinent information to subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. 9. Division of work between separate Prime Contractors is defined in Section 011100 - Summary Multiple Primes, as well as within other technical sections within the specifications and shown on the drawings. 10. It is the responsibility of each Contractor to familiarize themselves with the entire Drawing Set and Specifications in order to coordinate their work with the work of others. 11. All questions during the bidding phase are to be posed by email only. NO QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED BY PHONE. Response to questions not covered in the construction documents will be provided by issuance of an Addendum. Please use the provided RFI Transmittal Cover Page included in this manual for all bidding questions. 12. The words Specification and Project Manual are interchangeable, both referring to this document. 13. Each Prime Contractor shall warrant its work and materials for one (1) year or more, starting at date of substantial completion of the project. a) Warranties will only begin if the item, system, equipment etc. is in Good Working Order and has been accepted by the Owner. b) Specific sections in the specifications and certain systems and materials define a longer warranty period. 14. The only free-standing sign that will be allowed on site shall be the Project Identification Sign as specified in Section 015813 - Temporary Project Signage. 15. The Contractor may attach a single 4’-0” x 8’-0” sign to his trailer. 16. Use Charges: Refer to Section 011100 - Summary Multiple Primes and Section 015100 - Temporary Utilities.
