Renovation of a military facility in Westfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

Project is for the replacement of the existing front door with a matching door. Question Deadline 05/13/2024 Written Questions must be entered using the "Bid Q&A" tab for the Bid in COMMBUYS no later than the "Online Questions Due" date and time indicated in the Estimated Procurement Calendar Estimated Contract Start Date May 30 A Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the project value will also be required should the project value exceed $25,000. Replace the existing front door to the Westfield Armory (137 Franklin St. Westfield MA) with a matching door. The door must be custom manufactured and meet historical preservation requirements of like for like replacement. The existing door is 101" tall by 49-2/4" wide, there are two leafs, and both need to be replaced. The existing frame and door hinges will remain for historical accuracy. The new door must by prepped for 6" hinges and rim exits with trim. The door must have 15 beveled panels recessed into the door to match existing with color to match. There shall be (2) Von Duprin 88-Tp 613 exit devices with locking thumb piece trim, dark bronze finish and (2) Conventional rim cylinders in Schlage C keyway, dark bronze finish. Please refer to the attached design with the solicitation for reference of the door's dimensions and style. Upon completion of the replacement, the door shall function properly, be able to swing freely, close completely, and lock. Additionally, approximately 100 sq ft of wood flooring immediately upon entering the front door shall be removed and replaced with 2-1/4" red oak flooring. The flooring shall be sanded and receive a polyurethane finish to match the rest of the existing floor. A mandatory walk through of the site is required for all contractors interested in submitting a proposal. All components must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The armory shall remain secured at all times and the front door shall not be left nattended, in the open position, or unable to secure the facility at any point overnight. Upon completion of the replacement of both the door and the floor, an approval from the POC is required. Work can be performed during normal business hours (0700-1500), the building will remain operational, and the contractor must coordinate the installation with the POC outlined below. The unit is responsible for relocating any equipment before the installation to allow access to the door and return any equipment after the installation is complete. All work for this door shall be coordinated with the POC outlined below
