The District of Columbia Public Library (DCPL or Library) system includes twenty-six (26) libraries and offers programs and services at various locations across the District. All the libraries in the system have either been rebuilt or fully renovated or are currently undergoing the design/build stage and will be renovated in the next few years. These libraries have been designed by some of the world's finest architects and have won multiple awards. They represent the changing nature of libraries and what a modern, state-of-the-art library should look like. The Mt. Pleasant Library, an iconic Carnegie building inaugurated in 1925, is at 3160 16th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20010. In 2012, the library underwent a renovation that included the addition of a rear extension connected through a glass atrium. This Request for Proposals (RFP) invites proposals for a partial roof replacement and a total rooftop HVAC system replacement. Contractors interested in providing the services are required to submit specific information to DCPL.
