Renovation of a library in Akron, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

ASCPL Ellet, Firestone Park, Maple Valley, and Nordonia Hills HVAC Replacement Ellet Branch - 2470 E Market St, Akron, OH 44312 Firestone Park Branch - 1486 Aster Ave, Akron, OH 44301 Maple Valley Branch- 1187 Copley Rd, Akron, OH 44320 Nordonia Hills Branch- 9458 Olde 8 Rd, Northfield, OH 44067 This project includes HVAC upgrades at four separate library facilities. Ellet, and Firestone Park branch library consist of new packaged rooftop units, installation of new boiler and hydronic systems, VAV boxes, and ductwork. Maple Valley, and Nordonia Hills branch libraries consist of new packaged units, installation of ductwork electric baseboard and cabinet heaters, powered VAV boxes and ductwork. Opinion of probable construction cost for this project is $1,300,000.00 This meeting is optional. A nonmandatory Pre-bid meeting at ASCPL Nordonia Hills Branch, will be directly following the close of the Maple Valley Branch meeting. This meeting is optional. Bids shall be addressed to The Fiscal Officer of the Akron-Summit County Public Library. All questions concerning the project shall be directed by email to Joe Cavanaugh, PE, CEM. of Scheeser Buckley Mayfield: jcavanaugh@sbmce.com. The last day to submit questions is Wednesday, May 15 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon). The Akron-Summit County Public Library reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities and the right to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional bids. Also, the Library reserves the right to reject the bids of any bidder if the Library believes it would not be in the best interest of the Library to make the award of that bid; whether because the bid is not responsive or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standards or criteria established by the Library. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: ASCPL Nordonia Hills A. Replace four ground-mounted packaged air handling units. B. Install one fan-powered VAV terminal with electric reheat to improve space temperature controls for the Manager's Office. C. Electrical systems will be modified as required to accommodate mechanical upgrades. D. New temperature controls devices and programming to support HVAC upgrades to be provided by others. ASCPL Maple Valley A. Replace five out of six existing RTUs. B. RTU-5 to be replaced with a new unit. This unit is currently controlled as a VVT system. The terminal units and control strategies will remain for this unit. C. A new transfer/exhaust fan with thermostatic controls will be installed for the electrical room. D. Multiple electric baseboard heaters will be replaced with new units. Cabinet unit heater in vestibule to be replaced. New heaters will be controlled via the DDC system. E. Supplemental radiant heat will be installed for the Circulation desk area near the entrance. F. Electrical systems will be modified as required to accommodate mechanical upgrades. G. New temperature controls devices and programming to support HVAC upgrades to be provided by others. ASCPL Firestone Park A. Replace two RTUs. B. RTU-2 to be designed as a VAV unit. Ductwork to be re-worked with VAV terminals with hydronic reheat coils. C. Circulation desk area to be served by a fan-powered VAV terminal unit with hydronic reheat. Diffusers in this area to be converted to changeover type suitable for heating and cooling. D. Provide additional hydronic heaters in entrance vestibules. E. Heating water boiler and hydronic system installed to serve RTU-2 VAV terminals and to provide supplemental heat at entrances. F. Electrical systems will be modified as required to accommodate mechanical upgrades. G. New temperature controls devices and programming to support HVAC upgrades to be provided by others. ASCPL Ellet A. Replace three RTUs. B. RTU-1 to be replaced with new unit. This unit is currently controlled as a VVT system. This system will be converted into VAV with hydronic reheat. A small boiler, piping and necessary accessories will be installed to serve new VAV terminal units and some miscellaneous supplemental heat. C. Electrical systems will be modified as required to accommodate mechanical upgrades. D. New temperature controls devices and programming to support HVAC upgrades to be provided by others.
