Site work and paving for a civil project in Boonton Township, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.

The work includes replacement of two existing culvert pipes, reconstruction of the road embankment, paving of the roadway over the culvert, and armoring of the streambed and road embankment with grouted riprap. The two existing 45-inch by 73-inch CMP arch pipe culverts will be removed and properly disposed of and replaced with a 54-inch and 60-inch diameter RCP placed in a concrete cradle. The road embankment will be reconstructed with imported fill. The crest of the road embankment will be paved with asphalt and the embankment slopes will be armored with grouted riprap. The grouted riprap will extend upstream and downstream of the new culvert pipes. Also included in the work is the need to improve/maintain the existing access road and protect existing culvert crossing along the road. The contractor will also be responsible for complying with all permit requirements, including providing a NJ Endangered and Nongame Species Program (ENSP)-approved venomous snake monitor during all project activities between April 1 and October 15 of each year. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or a certified check made payable to the City of Newark in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the total bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00. No Bidder may withdraw his/her Bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the actual date of the opening of the Bids, except for reasons covered under N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.3. The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond, and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company licensed in the State of New Jersey, and meets the requirements of N.J.S.A. 2A:44-143. Surety company shall also be listed on latest version of the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to reject all Bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2 and waive minor informalities. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, in accordance with applicable law.
