Classroom Carpets in Its School Buildings. Project Will Include Removal of Old Carpet and Installation of New High-quality and Durable Shaw Carpet Tiles. Carbon School District is seeking proposals for the replacement of classroom carpets in its school buildings. The District is looking to replace the old and worn-out carpets with high-quality and durable Shaw carpet tiles. Evaluation Based on Quality, Cost, Timeline, Experience, and References. The total area to be covered by the new carpet tiles is TBD by measurements from interested vendors. The District is looking for a vendor who can provide specified Shaw carpet tiles, professional installation services, and excellent customer service. Scope of Work: The vendor will be responsible for the following: Providing the District with a detailed proposal that includes the following: o Measurement and calculations for removal and installation for each space. o Estimated cost of materials and installation o Provide timeline/ schedule for completion of the project over the summer break NOTE: If installation cannot be completed over the summer vacation period, a proposal for installation of remaining work can be presented to complete any remaining work over vacation periods through the remainder of the 2024/2025 school year. Coordinate with the Facilities Supervisor for dates. Removal and disposal of old carpeting or tile in an environmentally responsible manner o It is not expected for any hazardous materials (i.e. Asbestos) to be encountered during this project. In the event that any suspicious materials are discovered, work will be stopped while investigations and mitigations (if necessary) are made. Preparing the subfloor o Ensuring that the subfloor is free from debris and level. o Repairing any damages to the subfloor before installation. o Notify Facility Supervisor if undesired conditions are found. Installation of Shaw carpet tiles o Properly laying the new carpet tiles in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines. o Properly securing the carpet tiles to the subfloor. o Ensuring that the carpet tiles are properly aligned and free from any wrinkles or bumps. Clean-up and Final Inspection o Cleaning the work area and disposing of any waste. o Conducting a final inspection with the District Facilities Supervisor and School Representative to ensure that the work is completed to the District's satisfaction. The District is looking to have the project completed by August 1, 2024, with installation starting May 27,2024. The project timeline will be further discussed with the selected vendor.
