The City of Minneapolis is issuing this Call for Bids for prospective suppliers to provide all materials, labor, equipment and incidentals necessary for Bid for Public Works Hawthorne Ramp Elevator Modernization for PW-Traffic & Parking Services, all in accordance with the provided specifications, event line items and all documents requested herein. Project comprises a modernization of vertical transport system serving the Hawthorne Transportation Center Ramp, located at 31 North 9th Street in downtown Minneapolis. The facility, constructed in 2000, provides parking for approximately 1,015 vehicles on five levels of parking, above the active ground transportation center. There is a bank of four (4) elevators along the Hawthorne Avenue side of the facility, all of which units are believed to be original equipment. Specified components of the four-elevator system, as further described in these specification, will be replaced as part of this project, including associated mechanical and electrical systems. It is envisioned that a General Contractor will respond to this solicitation, with a vertical transport subcontractor, and others as applicable, performing specialty work related to those systems. Work consists of replacement of electrical and mechanical components of four traction elevators located at the above-noted Hawthorne ramp. Elevator cabs will be refurbished but not replaced.
