Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in San Jose, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.
This project provides funding for the design and construction of improvements to existing community centers that will enable the spaces to be utilized as emergency shelters. The ten community centers included in this project are fully funded by Measure T (Roosevelt, Mayfair, Bascom, Seven Trees, Camden, Berryessa, Almaden, Evergreen and Cypress Community Centers), or are currently unfunded but possibly funded through a public-private partnership program (Southside Community Center). The improvements to the community centers satisfy the minimum American Red Cross and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements to serve as temporary emergency shelters. The project is included in the City of San Jose's FY 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of January 23, 2025, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available. Construction is anticipated in 2025.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
