The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be according to Chapter 43, Title 11, Section 2.2-4330 (i) of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any or all bids. The General contract is to be awarded on a lump sum basis and includes all work as defined in the Contract Documents. The project is generally described as removal and replacement of existing HVAC systems and associated support work. Work includes removal and replacement of existing HVAC units, curbs, ductwork, electrical systems, and acoustical panel ceilings, and new structural supports associated with the HVAC unit replacements. The Work includes removal and replacement of the Kitchen Exhaust Hood. The Work also includes demolition and reconstruction of exterior masonry walls for new louver openings, and membrane roofing system repairs associated with rooftop HVAC unit replacements. Work includes Hazardous Materials Abatement and cleaning of the building interior below or in any area where Hazardous Materials are removed. All Work shall be completed in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications. 1. Phase 1 Work includes all work described as Phase 1 on the Construction Phasing Plans. Phase 1 Work also includes partial HVAC Commissioning work through submission and approval of screen shots. a) On-Site Construction shall commence on June 14, 2025. b) Substantial Completion for Phase 1 Work shall be achieved no later than August 14, 2025. 2.Phase 2 Work includes all work described as Phase 2 on the Construction Phasing Plans. At Contractor's Option, all or portions of Phase 2 Work may be concurrent with Phase 1 Work or Phase 3 Work. Phase 2 Work may also be performed outside of normal school operation hours during the school year provided that work areas are restored to pre-construction conditions and cleaned prior to the start of each and every school day. Phase 2 Work, if performed during the school year, shall be performed between the hours of 4:00 pm and 11:00 pm on Mondays through Thursdays, and between 4:00 pm Friday to 6:00 pm. Sunday for weekends. Weekend work requires 48 hours notice for VBCPS to provide access. 3.Phase 3 Work includes all work described as Phase 3 on the Construction Phasing Plans. Phase 3 Work also includes partial HVAC Commissioning work of Phases 2 and 3 through submission and approval of screen shots. a) On-Site Construction shall commence on June 13, 2026. b) Substantial Completion for Phase 3 Work shall be achieved no later than August 13, 2026. 4.Phase 1a Work includes all remaining HVAC Commissioning Work for Phase 1 after submission and approval of screen shots. a) Substantial Completion for Phase 1a Work shall be achieved no later than September 29, 2025. 5.Phase 3a Work includes all remaining HVAC Commissioning Work for Phases 2 and 3 after submission and approval of screen shots. a) Substantial Completion for Phase 3a Work shall be achieved no later than September 28, 2026.
