Site work for a mixed-use development in Bristol, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; and playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Bristol is accepting bids for the repair of running track surfaces at two Bristol high schools. Responses received after the required due date and time will not be considered for award. Email Submissions to: Purchasing@Bristolct.gov. Repair of running track surfaces at two Bristol high schools as outlined below, and as noted in Sections 4.1.1 and 4.2.1 of report entitled "Running Track Assessments" as prepared by Loureiro Engineering Associates dated January 31, 2024, attached and made a part of the specification. Repair the broken slot drain section near Location 4 by adhering the top section to the base at the two horizontal connectors and top edge of the drain body. Repair the broken slot drain section between Location 5 and Location 6 by adhering the top section to the base at the two horizontal connectors and top edge of the drain body. Repair the broken slot drain section between Location 8 and Location 1 by adhering the top section to the base at the two horizontal connectors and top edge of the drain body. Install free draining stone base or other base type called-for by the box manufacturer. Install the box in accordance with manufacturer's instructions set to maintain planarity of the field surface across the location. Re-install turf carpet to form level surface with box cover and replace infill. Secure turf material to box cover in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Bristol Eastern High School 632 King Street, Bristol CT Surface Damage and Cracking Repair the area of delamination in the South "D" zone, near Location 2. Fill the hole in the west "D" zone near Location 3. Fill the linear gouge/hole in Lane 1, near Location 7. Fill the linear cracking in the black track coloring at the inside edge adjacent to Drainage System Repair the broken slot drain section near Location 4 by adhering the top section to the base at the two horizontal connectors and top edge of the drain body. Water Service Boxes Remove infill and turf carpet to gain access to water service box. This may require cutting and re-seaming of the turf, which should be done by a qualified contractor, so warranties are not affected. Remove field base material around water box as required to remove existing box and create space for new installation. Install free draining stone base or other base type called-for by the box manufacturer. Install the box in accordance with manufacturer's instructions set to maintain planarity of the field surface across the location. Re-install turf carpet to form level surface with box cover and replace infill. Secure turf material to box cover in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Total All Work at Bristol Eastern High School $__________ Bristol Central High School 480 Wolcott Street, Bristol CT 4. Fill the linear cracking at the western portion of the south "D" zone parallel to the end of the synthetic turf field. Fill the numerous small holes (surface damage) observed in the south "D" zone west of the field centerline, near Location 3. It is recommended that the school modify its procedures for the movement of track and field equipment on the track's coated areas to prevent future damage. Fill the large, localized surface damage observed in the south "D" zone west of the discus cage, near Location 4. 6. Water Boxes The three water boxes at the perimeter of the synthetic turf field shall be replaced with new units, set level with the field surface. The new units shall be installed with adequate deep bases set in free-draining material to minimize heaving. Areas at the perimeter of the synthetic turf field where the turf anchoring edge board ("nailer board") is displaced shall be remedied. Remove infill and turf carpet to gain access to water service box. This may require cutting and re-seaming of the turf, which shall be done by a qualified contractor, so warranties are not affected. Remove field base material around water box as required to remove existing box and create space for new installation. Install free draining stone base or other base type called-for by the box manufacturer. Install the box in accordance with manufacturer's instructions set to maintain planarity of the field surface across the location. Re-install turf carpet to form level surface with box cover and replace infill. Secure turf material to box cover in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 7. Turf System Edging Remove infill and turf carpet to gain access to the areas needing repair. Remove sufficient field base material to gain access to the full depth of the turf anchoring edge board. Inspect the existing turf anchoring edge board for damage that may affect its function. If such damage is noted, replace the entire length of the repair area with a new board, securely fastened to the concrete curb. Re-install turf carpet with appropriate edge anchoring per the turf manufacturer's requirements and re-install infill. Lane 1, between Locations 7 and 8. Fill the crack in the bituminous pavement adjacent to the outer edge of the track near Location 8 up to the edge of the track surfacing. Fill the linear cracking in the black track coloring at the inside edge adjacent to Lane 1, between Locations 8 and 1.
