Reference number : 1838971 Deadline for receiving complaints: 2024-05-13 Université du Québec in Montréal is calling for tenders for work to replace the escalator at the J.-A.-DeSève Pavilion (DS), located at 320 Sainte-Catherine Street East, Montreal, H2X 1L7. The Contractor will be responsible for the supply and installation of the staircase as well as the rest of the work. The bid will include work for the development of a universal washroom at the Sainte-Catherine Pavilion (V), located at 209 Sainte-Catherine Street East, Montreal, H2X 1L2. The replacement of the escalator and the fitting out of the universal washroom will include related work on temporary protection, demolition of existing facilities, handling, development, installation and dismantling of the temporary lifting system, architecture, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, patching, etc. The contractor will be required to plan for the demolition of the existing staircase in its entirety as well as all preparatory work for the installation of the new staircase in the first instance before the beginning of the quarter scheduled for September 5, 2024, in order to allow the installation of the new staircase as soon as possible as soon as it is delivered by the supplier. The delivery and dismantling of the staircase must be done over the weekend and in coordination with the Owner in order to minimize the impact on traffic and the safety of users. The Contractor will be fully responsible for controlling access to the site and the construction site. In situations where the Contractor must perform work elsewhere in the building or in cases where it is necessary to make electromechanical service cuts, it will do so outside the normal hours of occupancy by users, according to the Owner's authorizations. Finally, the Contractor will have full responsibility for the safety and temporary protection of the site.
