The work associated with this contract consists of surface preparation, crack filling, seal coating, and pavement marking of streets throughout the City of Franklin. The bidder should be aware that work will require coordinated traffic control. Est. Completion Date: Sept. 30, 2024 Description of Improvements: The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services required for the installation to complete the contract work. Approximate quantities of work, including mandatory alternate bids, are as follows: Rejuvenating Fog Seal 125,515.00 Square Yards (SY) Crack Seal (various locations) 8.00 Lump Sum (LS) Total Base Bid It is expressly understood and agreed that the foregoing total base bid is the basis for establishing the amount of the bid security and is for comparison of bids only, and is not to be construed to be a lump sum proposal. It is further understood that the quantities in the bidding schedule for the unit price items are approximate only, and that payment on a contract will be made only on the actual quantities of work completed in place, measured on the basis defined in the contract conditions and the contract specifications. The undersigned has carefully checked the above bidding schedule against the contract drawings and specifications before preparing this proposal and accepts the said quantities as substantially correct both as to classification and amount as correctly listing the complete work to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications. The City of Franklin reserves the right to award the project to the lowest responsive bidder based on BASE BID NO. 1 plus MANDATORY ALTERNATE NO. 1 through MANDATORY ALTERNATE NO. 7, if so selected as being in the best interest of the City. The prices for MANDATORY ALTERNATE NO. 1 through MANDATORY ALTERNATE NO. 7 will be the amounts added to or deleted from the BASE BID NO. 1 if the City selects the alternates, and the City is under NO obligation to select MANDATORY ALTERNATE BID NO. 1 through MANDATORY ALTERNATE NO. 7 Interpretation of Proposed Contract Documents: If any person contemplating submitting a bid for any contract on this project is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the contract drawings, specifications or other sections of the contract document, he may submit to the Owner a written request for an interpretation thereof. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the contract document or contract drawings will be made only by addendum duly issued or delivered to each person receiving a set of such documents.
