Furnish materials, labor, tools, equipment, and appurtenances necessary for the construction of 64 LF - 30" culvert and 208 LF - 36" culvert including sand-cement bag rip rap end walls, backfill, and necessary associated grading, traffic control, testing, etc. for the installation of a culvert beneath Emerson Rd in Brooks County, Georgia. Necessary demolition, clearing, erosion control, and maintenance will be required for the project as well. Question Deadline 05/23/2024 Requests for interpretations of the bid documents must be made to the Project Engineer. Any interpretations made to bidders will be issued in the form of Addenda to the bid documents and sent to all bidders. All work on this project must be completed within sixty (60) consecutive days from date of notice to proceed. Bids shall be submitted on bid proposal forms furnished for that purpose in accordance with the contract documents and specifications. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with Brooks County prior to the time set forth above and accompanied by Insurance Certificates and other required contract documents. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. Brooks County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. It is understood and all bids are made subject to this agreement, that the Owner reserves the right to decide, with the assistance of the Contract Administrator, which bid is deemed the best, and in arriving at this decision, due consideration will be given to the Bidder, his financial responsibility, and work of this type successfully completed. No Bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check or acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid for the project made payable to the Brooks County Board of Commissioners. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The successful bidder, upon his failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract and bonds required within 10 days after he has received notice of the acceptance of his bid, shall forfeit to the Owner, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with his bid. The Contractor will be required to furnish a Contract Performance Bond and a Payment Bond executed by a Surety Company duly authorized to do business in the State of Georgia, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection with this contract.
